Online Course
The course below is available online through Radford University’s Government and Nonprofit Assistance Center (GNAC). You must register through VGFOA to take this course. Once you register, an email is sent to GNAC notifying them that you are enrolled. GNAC will then send you a password so that you can log on to their website and take the course.

Objective:
Course is designed to provide an overview of major federal legislation relating to fair employment practices and anti-discriminatory provisions, as well as Virginia law provisions that govern lawful employment practices.
This course qualifies for credit under VGFOA’s Certificate Program (http://www.vgfoa.org/page/certificate-program/) and serves as an elective.
This is a self-paced course that has three main sections as follows:
- Introduction & selected federal statutes
- Respondeat Superior & sovereign immunity
- Virginia Constitutional and statutory provisions
Each section should take between 1-3 hours. You can come and go at any time.
The recorded PowerPoint slide presentation is in one file. You can leave the slide presentation at any time and then return and click on the slide that you want to start. There are six quizzes that you need to work on as you go through the slides. You can access the quizzes by clicking on the quizzes icon. You can take the quizzes as many times as you like. You must make 100% on one of the attempts to get credit for the class.
After you have completed all four sections, you need to take the course exam. There is a two hour time limit and you only have one attempt. Once you start the exam, the two hour period begins and does not stop if you leave the exam.
This online class offers 7 hours of CPEs.
