VGFOA & Radford University GNAC Certificate Program Scholarship
The VGFOA Executive Board several years ago created the Certificate Program Course Scholarships to encourage participation in the VGFOA & Radford University GNAC Certificate Program, especially among Members from smaller local governments or from areas of the state where VGFOA participation has been limited.
The Certificate Scholarship Program offers five individual course scholarships, each valued at up to $225. VGFOA Membership is required to apply for the Certificate Program Scholarships.
The VGFOA Mentorship and Awards Committee considers a number of factors when recommending Scholarship award candidates, such as the applicant’s professional experience, short-term and long-term career goals, current position within the employer’s organization, previous VGFOA Certificate Program courses completed, and the population and budget of the applicant’s employer. Also considered is the locality’s geographic location within Virginia. Applicants are encouraged to provide full and complete information since these scholarships are highly competitive.

The 2019 VGFOA & Radford University GNAC Certificate Program Course Scholarships will be valid for the entire 2019 calendar year and winners may choose any Certificate course offered during that time period. Any other course-related expenses must be covered by the attendee or employer.
Applications were due by August 31, 2018 and were awarded at the Fall Conference at the Hilton Short Pump Hotel & Spa on October 25, 2018.
